Travelling through China with Bach, Brahms and Tchaikovsky
From 17 to 25 May, Antje Weithaas will be performing recitals and orchestral concerts in five major Chinese cities.
The concerts in Chengdu, Jiangsu, Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Wuhan will feature Bach partitas as well as the violin concertos by Tchaikovsky and Brahms (both in D major).

12th Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover, again under the artistic direction of Antje Weithaas and Oliver Wille
From 16 - 28 September 2024, 23 excellent young violinists from ten nations will take part in the international Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover/Lower Saxony. For the second time, the competition, which takes place every three years, will be under the artistic direction of Antje Weithaas and Oliver Wille.

Digital release: Antje Weithaas plays Pēteris Vasks' second violin concerto ’In Evening Light’
Pēteris Vasks (*1946) wrote his second violin concerto Vakara gaismā (In Evening Light) – like his first violin concerto 25 years earlier – for violin and string orchestra. The Latvian composer, composition teacher and double bassist created the commissioned work in 2020. The studio recording, which is now available, was made in connection with a concert series in Bern/CH in February 2024 with soloist and conductor Antje Weithaas and the Camerata Bern.

For the second time, the Beethoven cycle by Antje Weithaas and Dénes Várjon has been honoured by the jury of the German Record Critics' Award (PdSK)! After Volume 1 of the cycle was awarded a Quarterly Critic’s Choice 03/2023, Volume 3 has now also been honoured as Quarterly Critic’s Choice 03/2024. The jury praised the recording as a ‘reference recording that no one should miss’

Antje Weithaas will go on a summer tour with the Bundesjugendorchester in the first half of August
On its summer tour, under the motto "Musical Friendships," the Bundesjugendorchester will perform works by Brahms and Mahler that were written at the same time shortly before the composers' friendship began. Antje Weithaas and Maximilian Hornung will interpret Brahms' Double Concerto in A minor for violin, violoncello, and orchestra at the six concerts.
