On its summer tour, under the motto "Musical Friendships," the Bundesjugendorchester will perform works by Brahms and Mahler that were written at the same time shortly before the composers' friendship began. Antje Weithaas and Maximilian Hornung will interpret Brahms' Double Concerto in A minor for violin, violoncello, and orchestra at the six concerts.

Together with musical partners such as Thomas Hoppe and Quirine Viersen, Antje Weithaas will perform chamber music by Beethoven at the Februari Festival in The Hague (Feb 12-16, 2020).

In Autumn 2019, two CDs with Antje Weithaas were released. Journalist Christoph Vratz presented them at “Deutschlandfunk” in the programme “New recording” in detail (in German).

They knew each other and appreciated each other: Robert Schumann called Johannes Brahms a "hero of a new generation", Brahms, on the other hand, was sold on Schumann's romantic style. Antje Weithaas recorded works by these two composers together with the NDR Radiophilharmonie under the baton of Andrew Manze (cpo).
